Gourmet Runner

So...just a warning. This is one of those posts that I read on someone's blog and go..."Seriously? On a Tuesday? Get to work woman!" I promise, I worked yesterday. I just happened to stop at 3:30 to hop on a pontoon boat and drink a few three two one beer and some diet cokes. That's right, this girl knows how to party.  Apparently my hair decided to rebel yesterday. I let it down and out of its ponytail for a good 25 minutes, and this is how it repays me. Rude. Don't worry, I showed it who was boss by tying it up for the rest of the day. We cruised around taking in the views: We headed in for swim where I did NOT get my brain eaten by parasites. Since yesterday was our first anniversary , hubby and I planned a day of exploring around where we live. We decided to see Lake Conasauga, which was pretty near (we thought) to us, and would be a great place for me to relax, read a book, and get a tan while the hubster was fishing. Didn't go quite as planned, but we did have fun! I may have had a little too much fun.  We started driving, on what was supposed to be a 25-30 minute journey. Half an hour in, I was excited. Music was pumping, the scenery was beautiful. Here's what we were looking at: Another 20 minutes of driving, 2,000 feet of elevation, and subtract 15 degrees, it began to look more like this: Yeah....I was getting a little nervous. Do you remember heading to a carnival or a fair when you were a kid and winning a little goldfish in a bag? I had that experience yesterday times a million! We have tons of weeds growing in our pond, so we decided to get some fish that would eat the weeds, and some edible fish so hubs has something to catch when he goes fishing. We went to a fish farm/store to get them, and we transported them home in plastic bags. If I look like I'm struggling, it's because they were HEAVY! For people who are interested in fish (i.e. not me unless it's on my plate) we got some grass carp and about 60 catfish. I have a feeling that in a few months I'll be writing a post begging for catfish recipes! Hubs had to get in the pond in his little rain boots to put the fish in.
