All Deered Out And A "Short" Long Run

Somehow Saturday managed to be the world's busiest day. Two state parks, a little hike, an antique mall, a picnic, a visit to a deer park, and I still finagled in a P90X Plyometrics workout in just before 9pm. You would not believe how proud I was of that. 99% of my body wanted to lay on the couch and maybe help myself to some of my delicious coconut ice cream , but that 1% was nagging me and so I just got it done. Since the state parks were repeats for me, I didn't take many pictures. But the Deer Park was awesome! Of course, I just fell in love with the guard dog. I basically paid the $8 admission fee to cuddle up with the world's biggest dog: That poor little deer just wanted some attention and I was enamored with the puppy. I know that after about 100 pounds dogs can't be called "puppies", but whatever. I did feed the deer as well so they wouldn't feel left out: As did the hubs.... To top it all off, I saw a deer hopping across the path on this ...

Why Yes, I Do Run 87 Miles Per Hour!

Don't you dare tell me my Garmin is broken.  I wore my heart rate monitor and Garmin in order to see how intense the P90X Plyometrics workout really was. Pay close attention to the max speed section below: You guys should probably start taking ALL of my advice from now on, and then you can run 87 MPH too. I'm pretty sure I have never even driven that fast. So how did that happen when I didn't even leave the living room? Check out the map from that hour--apparently I was all over the place! Yeah....I never moved more than 6 feet in any direction. I'm going to go ahead and say my Garmin was acting up. That or lunch gave me TONS of energy: I fried (1tps. olive oil) some leftover jasmine rice with sauteed onions, a scrambled egg, and some broccoli. Topped with a leftover baked tilapia fillet.  Great lunch. Not 87 MPH great, but good.  Does your Garmin ever go haywire? YES! It's worse in the humidity. I actually just hold it for long runs rather than wear it on...

Mixing It Up!

My fitness goals for this week were to re-discover strength training and cross-training, and let running take a backseat for a few days. So far, it's been great! I'm not feeling the heavy legs I had all last week, but I still feel like I'm keeping fit. Monday- 45 minutes of yoga video, 30 minutes of abwork and push-ups Tuesday - P90X Plyometrics It was my first time in about a year doing this P90X video. How did I do? I kid, I kid. It wasn't that bad. The 60 minutes video didn't kill me, but it was definitely enough to get me sweaty! This is going to be my new rainy day workout, when I just don't want to head outside for a run. Love mixing it up! Speaking of mixing it up....here are the mix-ins for my post-workout greek yogurt: Mixed with a sliced peach and flax seeds. And someone snuck a few chocolate chips in there. Weird. Absolutely no idea how that happened.  If you haven't entered my giveaway  for a free pack of BumbleBars, get to it peeps...
