A few week back I got my very own Aspaeris pivot shorts in the mail....just in time to enjoy a month free from running thanks to a foot injury. Great timing, right? Originally I thought I would tuck the bad boys away for a while and pull them back out when I started running again.
If I'm honest, I put these shorts on the first time just because I needed clean shorts for spinning. Plus, I figured the longer length would help me to not start a fire thanks to my inner thighs rubbing together. Once I started wearing them for that, I realized how comfortable they were.
Putting them on might require sumo squats, but once they're on? Worth the gymnastics routine it takes to squeeze you in:

I won't tell you how often I wear these shorts in a week. Because I don't do laundry that often, and you guys might get suspicious. I will say that they often come in the shower with me and hang up to dry afterwards, so I'm not completely nasty.
Now that I have had a few runs again post-injury, I'm impressed with more than just their looks and comfort. They are designed to help athletes avoid ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injuries. ACL injuries are often caused by quick, lateral movements. Wearing them during a run really does feel different - almost as if your legs are aligned properly while running. Although they are tight, they still give you complete range of motion. That being said, here are some things to keep in mind that I noticed about the pivot shorts:
-Sausage casings. I kid- kinda. They are tight, so be prepared for that. If you aren't comfortable showing your booty to the world, toss a pair of tempo shorts on top.
-No seriously, you have to wrangle them on. Don't do this in front of your significant other if you ever want them to think you look sexy ever again. It's a lot of jumping around while trying to give yourself what looks like a wedgie. H-O-T.
-Choose a Size Up: The sizing chart was helpful for me in picking out the right size, but I also went the larger of two sizes. My waist measurements were a size XS, but my hips are a medium. (Don't get me started.) So I went with a medium, and that fits perfectly. I'm definitely glad I didn't go any smaller.
-Surprising Lack of Muffin Top: This was a special bonus for me. Although they are tight -did I mention that yet?- they offer a really comfortable waistband that's very flattering.
So, in review: they're tight. They're awesome. You should get a pair.
