Peanut Butter Porn

Don't worry guys, I promise this is suitable for work. Alison, over at The Peacock Diaries, posted a couple of days ago about the Nutropolitan Museum of Art. My beloved Peanut Butter and Co. has a glorious gallery of pictures like this one here:

PB and fig jelly sandwich with whole fig slices and caramel corn.

Oh, and this one too:

Dark Chocolate Dream PB w/black cherry preserves, whole blackberries, and chocolate chips

Honestly, I thought it was all pretty rude. How can they show us this stuff and not let me eat it? My PB&J sandwiches were looking pretty pathetic. I got my thinking cap on and got ready to make my own PB creation. Maybe not quite as drool-worthy in the photos, but every bit as delicious.

Peanut Butter Rice Pudding

This makes 2 portions, so adjust if you need more. Ingredients:
-1 cup of cooked rice (I used some leftover basmati)
-1 whole egg
-3 tablespoons of White Chocolate Wonderful PB
-1 tsp. Vanilla
-1/4 cup brown sugar

Mix all ingredients together and pour into an oven-proof dish. Place that dish into a larger dish or pan with hot water--a water bath. I baked the pudding for 25 minutes at 450 degrees.

It came out perfectly, with a slight brown sugar crust--like you find on top of a creme brulee.

I portioned it out into two little blue dishes, and saved one for later. I *may* have eaten it for lunch and then chased it down with a quick salad to get my greens in. I really wish I could describe how amazing this was.

Do you like PB? You'll love this.
Do you like dessert? You'll love this.
Are you human? You'll love this.

Seriously. Divine!

Am I the only one who drools over pictures of food? Tell me I'm not alone!
That PB gallery was honestly amazing, and gave me tons of ideas for recipes I'll use in the future. I love seeing great food photos on blogs as well, but they always make me hungry!

What's your absolute favorite dessert?
Um...this! I would say cheesecake or creme brulee otherwise. I like sweet much more than I like chocolate desserts!

Race the Bar 5k Recap (AKA: A Personal Worst!)

Do you remember a few weeks back, when I was all braggy about running in Florida in February/March? Sunny mornings around a lake with a light breeze off the water have turned, cruelly, into humid stretches of time where I am humbly reminded of my own limitations. You guys, I see these gazelle-like creatures, men and women alike, who prance on my running route with compression socks, a soft glow of perspiration at their brow. It's beautiful. It's also a harsh reminder that I am not them. I am currently running in the thinnest, smallest items of clothing I can without offending anyone (shirt stays on, people). I dare not step outside without some awful visor or wide-brimmed hat. When I hop in the shower after a run, my face is a deep crimson that causes my husband to voice his concern for my general well-being. Have I mentioned this is what happens after my easy runs, with a few walk breaks thrown in? Yeah. It's humbling. Now, I'm not complaining. It's beautiful...

Just a Handful is Enough! Bra Review and Giveaway

You know those people who said running is the cheapest sport because all you need is shoes? Well, they're clearly not women. For me to have a successful run, I need a good pairs of shoes, wicking socks, shorts that don't chafe me, a non-cotton top, my Garmin, some body glide, and a sports bra. And let's be honest here--sometimes finding the right bra can be the most difficult part of all.  For my chest size (aka the cups aren't exactly "running over") it seems like sports bras come in two styles: 1) flattening compression bras 2) completely unsupportive bras Well, call me vain if you want, but I like to have support when I run, and also keep a little shape. And I definitely want people to recognize that I'm a woman when I run past! That's why I'm so excited to be the proud new owner of a  HANDFUL  bra!  I'm in love!  Handful bras  are designed to "flatter, not flatten" and it's true! Removable pads contour the body and keep so...

Chobani Review and Giveaway!

I'm pretty sure it's not a secret that me and Greek yogurt are in a serious relationship. I know, I know...hubby can read this. But he's well aware of the affair. At least once a day I need my fix. Sometimes it's a mid-morning snack with fruit, or a lunchtime topper for baked potatoes. Other times it's the sweet dessert topped with fruit and chocolate shavings that completes my night. Plain, vanilla, fruity...I could wax poetic about the stuff for ages. Don't worry, I won't. What I will say is that as much as I love Greek yogurt, I figured it was all the same. I saved a little money (18 cents on each container at my local store) in order to get the cheaper no-name brand. Then Chobani was on sale, so I picked up a few. Um, this stuff is THICK! So much creamier and thicker - and tastier - than any other brand I've tried. Sorry, extra 18 cents. You are now being diverted to my Chobani fund. I won a Chobani giveaway a couple of weeks ago hosted by ...
